The first case for review is that of Thomas Capriola, whom was arrested in 1998 for allegedly being the "prime kingpin" in the fetish video business, namely the international sale of "crush fetish" films. The crux of the fetish, oddly enough entails, viewing a woman stepping on & crushing either fruits, insects or small animal underfoot. This genre caters to a niche of an estimated one thousand men & women worldwide. The fetish itself is said to have originated in the ancient Roman city of Pomeii, as paintings on some of the walls & ruins have alluded to. Within all it's perversity i maintain the objective standpoint, to disseminate the facts from the fiction of this case.

Flawed from the offset, the entire basis of ths case was derived from the aspursions of an estranged ex-aquaintance namely one "Vanessa E. Moore". What in May 1998 that had become a media & animal rights focal point, screeched to a halt on February 4th of 2001 when the conviction was abruptly overturned. It seems that after Thomas' arrest, Ms. Moore was nabbed whilst web soliciting sales of the same videos that she claims to have been coerced into starring in. Upon her arrest she finally spilt the beans so to speak. But not before she was charged with evidence tampering, criminal conspiracy 2nd, false report of an incident, perjury & of course animal cruelty charges. When the fog of deception had cleared and Vanessa came clean, she admitted to cunningly placing evidence at Capriola's residence that she still posessed keys to, whilst he was away. Vanessa then drove off and made her statement to the authorities. He was arrested in his driveway, quite surprised, as he returned from a day of work.

This case stood on shaky ground since the beginning, and it did follow this from day one when my wife pointed it out on the evening news. Ultimately it was quoted as being a massive waste of taxpayer dollars as Vanessa admitted to fabricating the statement to the police as an "act of revenge" over an embittered parting of ways. To stave off question regarding a female accomplices' involvement in these videos with her, she craftly added that it was her ex-beau in drag. This was all expedient & convienient, which the media as usual, feeds upon voraciously.  Additionally there was an internal affairs inquiry as to the handling of this case, regarding a more thorough verification of facts prior to actions. This ultimately did not bring any fault to the Department itself. Thomas Capriola in a seperate interview following the reversal of his charges stated in sum that he just wanted to get this all over with, pleading guilty to avoid what his lawyer quoted would be a "media circus" is this wen to trial in Riverhead. Capriola's lawyers were stonewalled by an adamant DA & a potent political agenda, where they were ultimately powerless untill this radical change of events. Amazing how some folks are guilty untill proven innocent?, quite an irony... and frightening enough, actually more common in the legal world than some may think!

 

 

Everyone is indeed guilty untill proven innocent, and once a lie is fabricated it grows like a weed choking out any naysay.

Again, just another unfortunate fact which makes the world what it is today, i can get real political with this tangent... um.. yeah lets stick to the subject at hand and stop there.
